Kokovoko raises its own version of the Lincoln Longwool sheep. Most of our breeding stock started with Lincolns, but before we settled on them as the best sheep in the world, we started off with a few Jacobs, Corriedales, and Romneys. So their influence is seen mainly in a softening of the Lincoln wool just a bit. We still use a Lincoln ram on the flock each year.
Our ewes average a 200% + lamb crop. Most of the sheep are colored, but we keep a few whites available so that we have fleeces for dyers. Spring lambs are available in April. Lambs purchased prior to weaning are $50 for rams and $100 for ewes. Thereafter prices about double, and mature sheep are priced individually based on breeding quality, etc.
